Agriculture and Food Security

Agriculture and food security are essential for realizing a self-reliant and poverty-free Africa.

Our Approach:

We operate on the premise that all African communities are able to sustain themselves if given the right tools and guidance to achieve the desired results.

We prioritize community-based capacity-building and behavior change in food security and nutrition, including the support of school feeding, community gardening, bulk food storage and preparation, and the promotion of dietary diversity. Our interventions target women, youth, and other vulnerable groups.

Our utilization of indigenous staff, experts, expertise and our broad experience working in the African context gives us a strategic advantage towards resolving the systemic and acute problems of food insecurity and hunger.

To date Nascent has provided  70 million+ school meals. Our investments in school gardens, school feeding and Climate Smart Agriculture training for vulnerable and displaced persons, sows the seeds of sustainability and self-reliance.
